HOW TO ACT IF YOUR ELECTRONICALLY SIGNED DOCUMENT IS NOT ACCEPTED

Since October 4, 2006 the Latvian Post E-ME provides for every resident of the Republic of Latvia a possibility to receive services of the electronic signature.

In accordance with the Electronic documents’ law Transitional provisions item 1, state and municipal authorities already starting from January 1, 2004 are obliged to accept electronic documents from physical and legal persons.

In cases if a state or municipal authority does not accept electronically signed documents, please, act as follows:

Notify in writing or electronically on such cases to Special Assignments’ Minister Electronic Department Secretariat. Secretariat contact information is available in the internet site http://www.eps.gov.lv/index.php?&291.

  1. After two working days, submit documents to the authority repeatedly.
  2. If after fulfillment of the step 1 and 2 the electronically signed document is still being not accepted, inform us on such cases. Contact information is available here.
