EME offers certification services as follows:

• Issuance of qualified (e-signature) certificates
• Issuance of physical persons’ authentication certificates
• Time stamp
• Certificates’ verification service
• Edoc format electronic documents’ verification service
• Software installation

Qualified and physical person’s authentication certificates are issued on special smart cards. To receive smart cards, the user should address post offices (for physical persons) or SJSC “Latvia Post” Sales department (for legal persons).

Please find information necessary for the application in the section „How to Apply?”.

Three different service packs are available for smart card users.

For legal persons is available a possibility to use the time mark for fixation of specially protected data in databases. To use this service, one should apply at Latvia Post Sales department to agree on technical realization of the requests, an amount of the service and its payment.

The time stamp is a service permitting EME approved information on the precise time when this signature or data have been made to be attached to the electronic signature or any other electronic data. Demands of the time stamp are authenticated and their payment is dependent upon the user’s selected option of the smart card.

Qualified certificates’ verification service is accessible for any interested individual, is free of charge, and it is accessible in LDAP catalogue, CRL records and OCSP replies service formats. Points of access and detailed information can be found in the section „Documentation”.

Authentication certificates’ verification service is orientated to providers of electronic services. CRL and LDAP verifications are free of charge, in its turn processing of requests of OCSP replies’ service is a charged service. For the use of this type of verification it is necessary to conclude an agreement by applying at SJSC “Latvia Post” Sales department.
