Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) provides a possibility to get an access to Vehicles’ and their drivers’ state register data by using the electronic signature. With the e-signature is possible to obtain data about oneself as a driver and about an owned vehicle.

Until now such type of information could be got by SMS or by calling to the charge phone or by applying personally to any of Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) branches. By using the e-signature, it is possible to receive information from the vehicles’ and their drivers’ register in direct link by not leaving the computer. It is conveniently, quickly, and moreover it’s for free of charge.

Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) was able to introduce such a service, as information in vehicles’ and their drivers’ register is clearly defined and precisely structured.

Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) accepts electronically signed documents

Road Traffic Safety Directorate ensures receipt of electronic documents signed with a secure electronic signature, by using the electronic mail as a carrier of electronic data. For circulation of electronically signed documents the e-mail address eoffice@csdd.gov.lv is used.

A desirable format for sending of documents – EDOC (Latvian Post e-Signer), into which formats of files mentioned in the Cabinet of Ministers regulations, June 28, 2005, Nr. 473 “An order of elaboration, drawing up, storage and circulation of electronic documents in state and municipal authorities and an order according to which circulation of electronic documents takes place among these authorities and physical and legal persons” Article 10 may be included:

  • for non-drawn-up text – TXT;
  • for drawn-up text – RTF, SGML (for graphical information – JPEG, TIFF or PNG;
  • for vector graphics – CGM.

In addition to the said formats of files, agency uses also formats of files of electronic documents as follows:

  • for drawn-up text – DOC;
  • for electronic tables – XLS;
  • portative document format - PDF.
